Having collaborated with musicians such as Simon Nabatov, Wolter Wierbos, Matthias Muche and Sven Hahne before, Büyükberber and Klein are presenting their new project in 2018 – 37Fern – featuring the celebrated soprano Claron McFadden and the immensely talented vocalist Kristina Fuchs.
Oğuz Büyükberber, Ned McGowan and Tolga Tüzün come together once again as Not Trio, this time with a new program of experimental and eloquent works originating from the thought and expressive processes of these three accomplished performer/composers. Compositions with improvisations make up the bulk of the works here as their collaboration takes a big step to greater depths of listening, timing, communicating and carefully choosing their expressions from each one’s broad musical experiences.
With Ox Barber, renowned clarinetist Oğuz Büyükberber reveals a hidden side of his musical personality. Focusing on his passion for electronica, Ox Barber is a glitchy, avant garde, atmospheric, playground involving lots and lots of cables.

NEW CD BY OĞUZ BÜYÜKBERBER QUINTET
Celebrating 100th birthday of Thelonious Monk, in “Off Monk”, I aimed for deconstructing his compositions while respecting their soul and history. I feel grateful to have explored this idea with my new quintet featuring Tolga Tuzun, Çağlayan Yıldız, Can Kozlu and Tobias Klein, who have been with me in my musical journey for decades.
I see this recording session as a ritual that'a dedicated to this great master whose work is the reason why I became a musician. And the other inspirational spirit who's invited to this ritual is of course none other than Eric Dolphy!

The main inspiration for this piece is the theme of home. The title "XY" refers to coordinates of a moving or static point: where home is, where it isn't, and where we are in our relationship to it. It investigates the possibility of continuity, a sense of connectedness through our lives even though each event may seem isolated.
